Registration of a “Painter’s College for Decorative Wall Design” in the trade register of Elberfeld (now a part of Wuppertal) with production of copper stencils.
1910
Registration of the brand name STORCH® and of the Company STORCHWERKE. Start of paint brush manufacturing, later paint roller manufacturing in Germany.
1946
After 80% destruction of plant, re-start in Wuppertal.
1958
First selling of electrically operated tools like super finish grinding machines for professional painters, steam wallpaper removers and low-pressure spraying machines under the STORCH - brand.
1976
Horst Rogusch, grandson of the company founder, enters STORCHWERKE. The company had to stop all production activities and to undergo an organisational modernisation (company turnover in 1975: only 3.1 Mio. Euro)
1986
Re-start of producton activities with CoverQuick®, the innovative masking product, paint rollers and wallpapering tools.
(company turnover: 11 Mio. Euro).
Today there are 5 factories in Europe and 3 Joint Ventures in China, covering all product categories.
1991
Start of founding distribution subsidiaries outside Germany in Western and Eastern Europe. Today, there are 8 foreign subsidaries.
1992
Start of the distribution centre in Berka/Thuringia with a total capacity of approx. 30.000 pallet places today.
1998
Entry into the Retail Market by founding the new distribution company with the brand COLOR EXPERT.
2004
Consolidated sales surpass 80 Mio. €.
Formulation and advertising of the new alliance between partnership-orientated paint wholesalers, painting contractors and STORCH Malerwerkzeuge and Profigeräte GmbH and his 100 plus sales force.
